Watching this short video forced me to consider a very simple yet important question. Do I know Jesus?
Like, do I really know Him, or do I just know about Him? Do I know Him as a friend, and if not, how come? Do I take the time to learn about Him? Do I pray to Him every day? Do I listen for His voice?
How can I get to know Him better? Could I share Him with a friend? And if I did, would it just be facts and history, or could I share a living, personal Jesus with whom I've shared life and experiences?
I want to know Him more. I want to live each day walking side by side with my Savior, sitting at His feet, learning and then putting it all into practice.
I don't just want to know about Jesus. I really want to know Him. And when I reach the end of my life, I want to be able to look back on it and say with a smile that without a doubt, my closest friend Jesus has led me all the way.
I hope that you want to know Him too. And if you do, I've got great news for you. He's knowable. He's available. He wants to get to know you too.
In fact, one of the best ways to get to know Him more is to share His love with those around you. He said if you do that - if you go and make disciples - He'll be with you 'til the end of the age.
That's a pretty long time. By the end of forever, we probably will be beginning to have a pretty decent experience of who Jesus truly is. Forever is a long, long time. It's a good start anyway.
